After what i will like to describe as an explosive first week, the second week of the English Premier League is here again and so are my predictions.. But first, lets check out how well i performed last week.
Prediction Actual Result
Arsenal vs Leicester 3-1 4-3
Watford vs Liverpool 1-2 3-3
Newcastle vs Tottenham 0-2 0-2
Chelsea vs Burnley 3-0 2-3
Everton vs Stoke 1-0 1-0
Southampton vs Swansea 2-1 0-0
West Brom vs Bournemouth 1-1 1-0
Brighton vs Man City 0-5 0-2
Crystal Palace vs Huddersfield 2-1 0-3
Manchester United vs West Ham 2-1 4-0
Now to this weeks predictions.
SWANSEA vs MANCHESTER UNITED (Saturday 12:30pm)
Man utd played brilliantly last week and as for this game, Swansea have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their 12 EPL games against Man utd while Man Utd on the other hand have won just 2 points from a possible 12 of their last four away EPL Matches. Its going to be a little bit difficult but am still backing Man Utd to win.
Prediction:- Swansea 0-2 Man Utd
LIVERPOOL vs CRYSTAL PALACE (Saturday 3pm)
Both teams have found the back of the net in each of the last 10 meetings between them in all competitions so this is definitely a high scoring game but am going to give it to Liverpool though cos they are superior. But hey, dont put your money on Liverpool keeping a clean sheet here.
Prediction:- Liverpool 3-1 Palace
SOUTHAMPTON vs WEST HAM (Saturday 3pm)
For the first 20 to 30 mins against United last week, West Ham were ok but as soon as they conceded, they completely fell apart. The Saints on the other hand were decent last week, had lots of chances against the Swans but messed them all up. As for this game, am giving it to West Ham, I just have this feeling West Ham are going to win.
Prediction:- 0-1 West Ham
LEICESTER vs BRIGHTON (Saturday 3pm)
Leicester are unbeaten at home in their last 12 EPL games against newly promoted sides winning 7 and drawing 5. Leicester looked good against the gunners last week though they conceded lots of goals but they looked like scoring each time and i expect them to be too much for Brighton.
Prediction:- Leicester 2-0 Brighton
BOURNEMOUTH vs WATFORD (Saturday 3pm)
All 4 league meetings between Bournemouth and Watford have ended in a draw.
Bournemouth were disappointing last week, played well but had little or no chance. Watford confidence should be sky high after putting 3 past Liverpool but i think its going to take a hit.
Prediction:- Bournemouth 2-1 Watford
BURNLEY vs WEST BROM (Saturday 3pm)
Burnley last week were great, putting 3 past Chelsea. West Brom have failed to win any of their last 9 away EPL matches. I expect Burnley to win this.
Prediction:- Burnley 2-1 West Brom
STOKE CITY vs ARSENAL (Saturday 5:30pm)
Stoke have lost just once in their last 7 home league games against Arsenal. But the Stoke now isn't the old Stoke teams. Arsenal were impressive last week giving you just what you expect of them - scoring lots of goals and conceding lots of goals which is why they woun't win the league.
But i give this game to Arsenal, they are looking good and Stoke is just weak presently.
Prediction:- Stoke 1-3 Arsenal
HUDDERSFIELD vs NEWCASTLE (Sunday 1:30pm)
Only two newly promoted sides have won their first two games, Hull City in 2016/2017 and Bolton 2001/2002.
Newcastle looked great last week until shelvey was sent off, Huddersfield putting 3 past Palace last week are going to be under pressure to continue the good work but i feel Newcastle will win here though.
Prediction:- Huddersfield 1-2 Newcastle
TOTTENHAM vs CHELSEA (Sunday 4pm)
If you call this ''the weekend's best fixture" you wount be wrong. Chelsea wount want to loose two games on the bounce, and Spurs wount want to loose their first game at Wembly. Chelsea have lost just 2 of their last 17 games against Spurs in all competition, Spurs have won just 1 of their last 9 games at Wembly. Spurs weren't super against Newcastle last week, i must confess i wasnt impressed. Chelsea on the other hand have to deal with lack of squad depth and suspensions to Fabregas and Cahill, Hazard has returned to training but i cant confirm if he will play any part in this game. I think Conte should definitely start Morata, the difference was clear when he came on, am not Judging Conte for starting Batshuayi last week though cos he deserved it, he was brilliant in pre-season but i think its time Morata starts. I would have gone for a draw - seems the most likely result but am giving it to Chelsea, i think they will surprise us all cos clearly judging on paper Spurs have the upper hand.
Prediction:- Tottenham 1-2 Chelsea
MANCHESTER CITY vs EVERTON (Monday 8pm)
City are surely going to win this. The arrival of Gylfi from Swansea is a great addition but i dont see Everton blowing teams away this season.
Prediction:- Man City 3-1 Everton
